|Remember your 1st Love|

What is love? Love can come from your spouse, family, friends... But

true love, the love of God must be priority. 1John 5:3 says, For this

is the love of God that we keep His commandments: and His commandments

are not grievous.

As this Scripture says, we are commanded to do. In Revelations 2, we

also see another command to not forget our first love! Our focus must

be on our first love: Jesus! How easy it is to say we love Him... but

living and showing it is what truly counts.

Recently I was watching with the children here in Kenya, an animated

version of Abraham and Isaac. I literally had to hold back tears (as

to not worry the children lol) but my heart cried seeing again the

faithfulness of Abraham and his willing obedience to the Lord,

offering up his only son Isaac because of the love He had for God was

greater and He showed it! What a heart for God and godly fear! No

wonder he is called the father of faith. The Lord is faithful. He

wants only the best for us, and at times He tests us to see we truly

do love Him at any cost. I look at Abraham and think, Oh Lord increase

my faith like that! To have faith so much so, all this that is in the

world i counted gain, it be loss for Christ! Why? Because He is my

first love, therefore, He is the one above all else. Above ALL else.

May this be our heart: to never forget the Lord Jesus who loved us

first! He is our Rock, strong tower, Redeemer... Our 1st LOVE! Amen

and amen.
